Bobux’s previous fleece lined collection lifestyle imagery portrayed a largely subtropical winter. Listening to the desires of our global retailers, we envisioned a much more inclusive picture of what winter can look like for this shoot. Resonating with parts of the northern hemisphere where winter is snowy and arctic, Bobux headed to the South Island - infamous for its rugged terrain, extreme climate, and the magical Merino sheep. This ancient breed of sheep carries the finest, softest and most super-powered wool in the world - the very wool these winter boots are lined with.

I styled and sourced clothing for this shoot with several criteria in mind - I wanted the pieces to fit seamlessly alongside each other in terms of colour and co-ordination, but not look too “curated” or perfectly matched. I wanted the outfits to look natural and worn as though it was a go-to, much-loved child’s outfit for this particular climate - with the intention of the models being excited to wear these pieces. I needed the clothing to portray the arctic climate, and most importantly, I needed the shoes to be visible and not out-shone by the rest of the styling.
